Steelers Playoff Chances Skyrocket After Win
Pittsburgh Steelers are in control of their own destiny this season, and as they enter the last nine games of the year, their playoff hopes are high.
After the team's 20-16 win over the Tennessee Titans, the Steelers are currently sitting at 5-3 with a 2-0 record in the AFC North and back-to-back divisional games coming in the next three weeks.
If the Steelers lost to the Titans, they'd hold just a 23% chance to make the playoffs this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
But with their primetime win, they currently hold a 51% chance of earning their way into the postseason.
The Steelers currently sit second in the AFC North, trailing the 6-2 Baltimore Ravens. However,
with a win over them in Week 5, Pittsburgh could trail by just a half-game if Baltimore loses to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9.
Pittsburgh is also the only team in the division with an undefeated record in the AFC North.
The Ravens' only loss comes to the Steelers, but Cleveland is just 1-2 (with a loss to the Steelers), and Cincinnati has yet to win in the division with a 0-2 record.
If the season ended today, the Steelers would be the fifth seed in the AFC and would face the Ravens in the Wildcard Round.
